The creator ladder used to be simple: get views, land sponsors, sell something. Now streamers want a rung too.

Tubi and TikTok are moving 12 creators from vertical clips into full series. Good news, obviously. Also a reminder that platforms increasingly want your audience and your format.

The deal

Tubi has selected 12 TikTok creators to develop 10 exclusive originals through its Creatorverse Incubator, first announced in March. Tubefilter's Sam Gutelle reported1 the slate on October 27.

The projects include Lynnell Jones Jr.'s animated superhero comedy Feeling Super, Allie Tran's horror travel series Scare Tours, Kai Cameron's dating format Kai Picks the Guy, Marc Sebastian's Australian travel show, and Sabrina Brier's friendship comedy Asking for a Friend.

There's horror, animation, reality, comedy and young-adult drama. Not random genres, either. They're repeatable, easy to explain and already work well with fandoms. Nobody greenlit "creator vibes, but longer." Each idea has a clean engine.

TikTok helped identify the creators and plans to promote the finished shows through Spotlight. Tubi handles the leap into television production and distribution.

The scale is real. Tubi says it now reaches more than 110 million monthly active users and has added over 35,000 episodes from more than 700 creators since launching Tubi for Creators in June 2025. Those figures come from Tubi's announcement2.

No individual premiere dates, budgets, ownership terms or creator payment structures have been disclosed. That's the less sparkly part. And usually the important part.

Why it matters

This isn't TikTok generously handing creators a television career. It's Tubi buying proven taste, characters and communities without starting from a blank page.

Creators get production muscle, living-room distribution and access to viewers beyond the feed. Tubi gets concepts already tested in public. TikTok gets another reason for ambitious talent to keep building there.

Attention opens the door. A format gets you invited inside.

The competition is heating up. Peacock has already developed creator-led originals, Netflix is licensing and commissioning internet talent, while YouTube announced its own 2026 Creator Shows slate3. The television people have finally noticed that creators can do more than promote television. Took them a minute.

Your move

First, find the show hiding inside your account. Look for a character, challenge or question that can survive six episodes without begging the algorithm for CPR.

Next, make a cheap pilot. Ten solid minutes will teach you more than a gorgeous pitch deck. Track retention, repeat viewers and comments asking for another episode.

Finally, protect the boring stuff: ownership, exclusivity, reuse rights and backend participation. Distribution is valuable. Giving away the thing that made you valuable? Less clever.
