X Analytics Dashboard Changes: What Creators Lose and Track
X analytics dashboard changes split free post metrics from Premium account trends, while updated creator rewards shift monetization rules. Here's how to measure reach, clicks, growth and conversions without vanity metrics.

Your post got 80,000 impressions. Lovely. Did it bring followers, clicks, customers or cash?
If you can't answer that without opening six posts and a spreadsheet, X has quietly made analytics part of the creator tax.
The dashboard split
In an October 23 guide1, Hootsuite reports that free X accounts still receive analytics for individual posts in the mobile app. That includes impressions, engagements, profile visits and follows generated by a post.
The full account dashboard is another story. Historical trends, follower growth, engagement rates and comparisons across posts now require X Premium. Useful data exists. X just divided it into free crumbs and a paid meal.
There's another wrinkle. Hootsuite's section on creator payouts describes X's old Creator Revenue Sharing model. As of October 26, 2026, that program is already dead. X stopped new applications on August 7 and closed it on September 7.
Its replacement, Original Content Rewards2, pays for qualifying views from Premium subscribers on the Home timeline. Creators need at least 500 verified followers and 500,000 eligible impressions over 90 days to apply. Copied clips, lazy reposts and engagement begging don't count.
Vanity impressions were always a dodgy compass. Now some impressions literally matter more than others. Fun little platform game, isn't it?Why this matters
Creators aren't just losing a convenient chart. They're losing the wider view needed to spot whether a format works repeatedly or merely caught one lucky gust of algorithmic wind.
That affects distribution decisions, sponsor reporting and monetization. A viral post can look brilliant while producing zero meaningful audience growth. Meanwhile, a smaller post that sends 200 people to your newsletter may be the real winner.
X also isn't your only scoreboard. Buffer says its basic Insights view remains free across plans, although exports and longer date ranges require payment. That's useful if you want a lightweight alternative, but third-party numbers can differ from native analytics. Pick one measurement method and don't switch rulers every Tuesday.
Your next move
Choose one outcome. If you want awareness, track impressions and profile visits. If you sell something, track link clicks and conversions. Likes are applause. Nice, not rent.
Record a weekly baseline. Save total impressions, profile visits, follows and clicks every Monday. Ten minutes. No elaborate dashboard cosplay required.
Tag your links. Use consistent campaign parameters so Google Analytics or your storefront can show which posts create actual movement beyond X.
Audit the winners. When something works, inspect the hook, format and topic. Then make another version. Don't celebrate the screenshot for three days and forget why it happened.
